Under the direction of world-renowned band leader and trumpet virtuoso Byron Stripling, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra kicks off the Swingin' at the Southern series with Duke's Place on October 28 at the Southern Theatre. From "Take The A Train" to "Satin Doll," Duke's Place features a full evening of classic Duke Ellington, starring Dwight Lenox and Lew Tabackin. For more than 20 years, Dwight Lenox's rich tenor voice and dynamic presence has captivated audiences around the country. Lew Tabackin is an electrifying flutist, a master of the tenor saxophone, and one of the world's greatest interpreters of the music of Duke Ellington.
