Q: What does "CAPA" stand for?
A: "CAPA" means The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts.
By clicking here, you can learn more about the history and mission of CAPA.
Q: Why aren’t my seat numbers consecutive?
A: Don’t worry, your seats are together. The seat numbers in our
houses are done "European" style; that means that the outer
sections do not have seats numbers that are in numerical order. Most
venues’ seating is numbered, as theatre seating often is, with
the odd-numbered seats on the left side of the house, and the even-numbered
seats on the right.
Q: Why can’t I find an event that I know is playing at one of
CAPA’s venues?
A: Because many other organizations rent the theatres
from us, a variety of non-CAPA presented events can also be found in
our venues. Most of these event listings can now be found here. For further information, you can also visit the artist’s or organization’s
site.
Q: I want to bring a large group, can I get any deals?
A: For information on bringing a group, please click here or call CAPA’s Group Sales Manager at 614.719.6900.
Q: What should I wear to the theatre?
A: Since the types of shows vary greatly, CAPA venues do not have a
dress code. While many patrons prefer to wear suits and dresses, others
dress more casually. Above all, dress comfortably.
Q: Can I take a tour of one of the theatres?
A: Tours are offered periodically throughout the year. Tours are typically
reserved for groups, but occasionally we do offer tours that are open
to individuals. Please click here
for our current tour schedule.
Q: Where can I park when I come to the theatre?
A: Convenient parking is different for each of our venues. Please choose
your venue by clicking here and follow
the link to Map, Directions & Parking.
Q: I need to stay at a hotel; can you recommend one close to the theatre?
A: There are several hotels within a few minutes of CAPA venues. Click
here to find a list
of local hotels with contact information.
Q: Where can I eat before or after a show?
A: There are many restaurants located near CAPA venues and some offer
discounts or specials when you show a ticket stub from a CAPA event
-- call the individual restaurant for more information. Click here
to see our Restaurant Guide.
Q: Can I bring a camera, video camera or video phone to the show?
A: Most performers and shows do not allow any duplication of their performances;
therefore cameras and visual and audio recorders are prohibited in all
CAPA venues.
Q: Do I have to buy a ticket for my small child even though he/she is
sitting on my lap?
A: All patrons, regardless of age must have a ticket to enter the theatre.
We cannot give free admission to infants or toddlers, even if they will
be seated on a lap.
Q: What time do theater doors open for a performance?
A: The doors to the theater lobbies typically open 1 hour prior to curtain.
However, presenters may open the auditorium doors at their discretion.
