One of the best-known – and best-loved – holiday traditions for over a century is Charles Dickens' magical A Christmas Carol, which springs to life in this beloved musical stage production of the classic holiday story. Charles Dickens' story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge – who discovers the true meaning of Christmas with the help of the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future – captures the goodwill and musical memories of the holiday season, taking audiences of all ages on a magical journey right alongside Ebenezer Scrooge. With all the warmth and comfort of a cup of Christmas cheer, this production is packed with laughter, pageantry, gorgeous costumes and features two dozen traditional Christmas carols including "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," "The Holly and the Ivy, "Here We Come A Wassailing" "Away In A Manger" and "O Come, O Come Immanuel."

Never has a theatrical performance embodied the warmth and joy of the season more brilliantly than this time-tested production. Like a three-dimensional Victorian Christmas card, this staging of the Dickens' tale evokes both the chilling poverty and luxurious wealth of 19th Century London as a thrilling backdrop to the spellbinding tale. Every memorable detail of Dickens' A Christmas Carol springs to life in this colorful production - from a snowy set that faithfully re-creates the Victorian period of London in the 1800s, to spine-chilling ghosts and several special effects - most notably Scrooge's Bed, which literally takes flight!

Most families can't imagine Christmas without a re-telling of the spellbinding tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, a lonely man who is given the rarest of gifts – the chance to change his life and to find his heart. So join Ebenezer on his unforgettable, magical journey in this stage show that has become one of the most treasured family gifts of the season.

TOY AND FOOD DRIVE
The Shubert Theater will be a collection site for non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys. Patrons are invited to bring toys and food items to the Shubert Theater when they attend performances through December 20. Donations can also be left in collection bins in the Shubert Lobby during regular box office hours. All food items will donated to the Connecticut Food Bank and the New Haven Fire Department will help distribute toys to New Haven-based family organizations. The story of Ebenezer reminds us how even a small donation of a new toy or a can of food can help brighten the holidays for a child and families in need.
