Suzanne Vega

Seperation

About Suzanne Vega:

Widely regarded as one of the most brilliant songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1980s. Bearing the stamp of a masterful storyteller who "observed the world with a clinically poetic eye," Suzanne’s songs are notably succinct and understated, often cerebral but also streetwise, and her lyrics invite multiple interpretations. In short, Suzanne Vega’s work is immediately recognizable as utterly distinct and thoughtful, and as creative and musical now as it was when her voice was first heard on the radio more than 20 years ago.

Opening Artist: Noah Chenfeld

Noah Chenfeld, 16, is a junior at Beacon High School in New York City. He performs his owns songs accompanying himself on piano and also leads the band The Box Story who have received over 100,000 plays on YouTube, won a tri-state high school Grammy competition and have played at a number of venues around New York including Webster Hall, Bowery Electric, Stephen Talkhouse and The Bitter End.

Last year, Jim Testa of the New Jersey Star Ledger wrote about Noah's song "Above The Noise,"
"Noah Chenfeld's surprisingly mature vocals and his backing band's firm grasp of buoyant pop-rock showcase the young musicians' talents while providing a life-affirming message for their peers."
