Broadway for Kids Applause Program

Applications for the 25-26 school year will open on August 5.
For fifteen years, Broadway in Columbus (a partnership between Broadway Across America and CAPA) has made subsidized tickets available for educators and their students through the Broadway for Kids APPLAUSE Program.
Thanks to the generous and ongoing support from our Broadway in Columbus season subscribers, we are pleased to help make the experience of Broadway available to the next generation of theatre goers in central Ohio. This program also helps educators use the power of Broadway to serve as a tool to enhance their curriculum and make learning fun. During the 2024-2025 season, we were thrilled to be able to award 807 subsidized tickets to students and educators from 16 schools in 7 central Ohio counties.
All public, private, and charter schools in central Ohio are eligible to apply. The educator applicant will be required to supply information about their school, their classroom, reasons for applying for the specific Broadway show(s), and how that specific show will connect to their classroom curriculum. In addition, a lesson plan demonstrating those curricular connections is also required.
Please note: The Broadway for Kids APPLAUSE Program is only available to school groups. Homeschool parents who would like to purchase discounted Broadway tickets should contact education@capa.com for more information.
Applications for the 25-26 school year will open on August 5.
Payment & Performance Policies
Upon acceptance into the program, the teacher who submitted the application will receive an Applause Program Subsidy Agreement which must be signed and returned within two weeks to confirm acceptance of the subsidy and to acknowledge the amount and date payment is due. If the signed agreement is not returned within two weeks, tickets may be released.
Tickets are non-transferable.
Tickets for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child must be paid for no later than six weeks prior to the performance. Tickets for all other shows must be paid for no later than four weeks prior to the performance. Tickets not paid in full by the due date will be released without notice.
Payments may be made with cash, charge, check by mail, or in-person during regular business hours.
Seating
When you submit your application, please indicate the number of tickets you wish to purchase and the preferred seating location. The first 50 tickets will be available at the subsidized $10 per ticket rate for balcony seats and $15 per ticket rate for rear orchestra seats. Tickets beyond the first 50 will be available at a special discounted group rate.

Our mission at CAPA is to make our performances accessible to everyone in our community, so if you require any specific accommodations, please alert our staff when submitting your application, so we can work to make the appropriate accommodations available.
