For sixteen years, Broadway in Columbus (a partnership between Broadway Across America and CAPA) has made subsidized tickets available for educators and their students through the Broadway for Kids APPLAUSE Program.

Thanks to the generous and ongoing support from our Broadway in Columbus season subscribers, we are pleased to help make the experience of Broadway available to the next generation of theatre goers in central Ohio. This program also helps educators use the power of Broadway to serve as a tool to enhance their curriculum and make learning fun. During the 2025-2026 season, we were thrilled to be able to award 1,445 subsidized tickets to students and educators from 33 schools in 10 central Ohio counties.

All public, private, and charter schools in central Ohio are eligible to apply. The educator applicant will be required to supply information about their school, their classroom, reasons for applying for the specific Broadway show(s), and how that specific show will connect to their classroom curriculum. In addition, a lesson plan demonstrating those curricular connections is also required.

The Broadway for Kids APPLAUSE Program is only available to school groups. Homeschool parents who would like to purchase discounted Broadway tickets should contact education@capa.com for more information.
