Broadway for Kids Applause Program

For over 10 years, Broadway in Columbus (a partnership between Broadway Across America and CAPA) have made subsidized tickets available for educators and their students through the Broadway for Kids APPLAUSE Program.

Thanks to the generous and ongoing support from our Broadway in Columbus season subscribers, we are pleased to help make the experience of Broadway available to the next generation of theatre goers in central Ohio. This program also helps educators use the power of Broadway to serve as a tool to enhance their curriculum and make learning fun. During the 2019-2020 season, we were thrilled to be able to award over 1,000 subsidized tickets to students and educators from 20 schools in 9 central Ohio counties.

All public, private, and charter schools in central Ohio are eligible to apply. The educator applicant will be required to supply information about their school, their classroom, reasons for applying for the specific Broadway show(s), and how that specific show will connect to their classroom curriculum. In addition, a lesson plan demonstrating those curricular connections is also required.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all subsidized tickets for the 21-22 school year have been awarded.
