Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia proudly launches its fifty-third season with a vibrant new staged adaptation inspired by three of the world’s most beloved folktales. Designed especially for young audiences, the hour-long production, Billy Goats Gruff and Other Tales, will debut in the 2025–2026 season.

Inspired by Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, and The Three Billy Goats Gruff, this original adaptation is written by Danny Everson and produced by Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia. The production offers a charming, humorous, and heart-filled reimagining of the classic tales through the eyes of two new characters—a brave raccoon and a clever mouse—who embark on a treasure-seeking adventure. Along their journey, they unwittingly save the three iconic families of pigs, bears, and goats from peril, proving that even the smallest creatures can be heroes.

Filled with adventure, whimsy, and friendship, Billy Goats Gruff and Other Tales blends three treasured stories into a seamless narrative that celebrates courage and kindness. The production is created for children ages 3 to 7 and promises a captivating theatrical experience filled with laughter, delight, and unforgettable moments for families and school audiences alike.
