Zarna has created over 400 comedic home videos with her family and built a devoted social media following of more than two million fans with over a billion views. Zarna is taking her latest comedy show, Zarna Garg: Million Dollar Excuses, on tour, including a stop in Columbus Thursday, March 12, 2026 for a 7:30 pm show in the Southern Theatre (21 E. Main St.).

An Indian immigrant mom based in New York City, Zarna made her mark with her debut comedy special One in a Billion on Amazon Prime. Her second special, Practical People Win, is now streaming on Hulu as part of Hulu’s Hilarious Comedy Series, marking another milestone in her rapidly rising career.

Her debut book, This American Woman, became a New York Times Best Seller, cementing her status as a culturally resonant and sharply funny storyteller. She also hosts the popular podcast The Zarna Garg Family Show, where she and her family tackle modern life’s biggest issues with humor and heart.

Zarna’s bold comedic voice has earned widespread critical acclaim. Jason Zinoman of The New York Times praised her presence, writing, “Garg has the kind of presence that powers network sitcoms.” She has sold out venues across the U.S., Europe, India, Dubai, and beyond with her current global tour of Practical People Win, and she recently opened for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on their Restless Leg Tour.

On the film side, Zarna starred in A Nice Indian Boy, which premiered at the 2024 SXSW Festival to rave reviews, with CinemaBlend calling her acting debut “particularly impressive.”

Zarna is a regular at New York’s iconic Comedy Cellar and has performed at major festivals including the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival (2023 and 2024) — where The Montreal Gazette hailed her as a potential breakout star — as well as the 2024 Netflix Is a Joke Comedy Festival.

Her accolades include winning Kevin Hart’s Lyft Comics competition, the 2021 Ladies of Laughter Award, and earning the Top Comedy Feature award at the 2019 Austin Film Festival for her screenplay Rearranged, which also became a Nicholl Fellowships semi-finalist.
