Description
Bedridden and neurotic Leona Stevenson tries to prevent a murder after her phone line gets crossed and she overhears the plans to kill a woman that very evening. Alone in her house, she unravels a plot that threatens to destroy her own life as she races the clock with only a phone to help her. Stanwyck was nominated for her role as a spoiled and overbearing hypochondriac, and Lancaster played against type as her harassed husband backed into a corner of his own making.
Cast: Barbara Stanwyck, Burt Lancaster, Ann Richards
