More than 900 volunteers help CAPA fulfill its mission each year and there are plenty of opportunities for you to become part of the excitement. Our volunteers play a very important role in our theatres and in our community. You can help play a vital part in our success by ensuring that CAPA’s patrons have a great experience every time they visit one of our theatres. If you are interested in becoming a CAPA volunteer, please fill out an application by clicking here. Becoming a CAPA Volunteer
Duties include: Ticket Takers and Patron Seating. Training sessions will help you become familiar with the theatres, so that you can read a ticket clearly and assist our guests to their seats, restrooms, or exits throughout the hall. Most ushers are asked to stand for a two to four-hour period and move freely up and down stairways without use of a handrail. There are also a limited number of positions available for each performance for people who have mobility challenges, and we welcome all willing volunteers to apply. You will be asked to work with the House Managers as well as other CAPA staff and volunteers and assist our guests with any questions or problems they may have.
All volunteers must complete an interview and orientation session. You must be willing to work at any of our theatres at least twice a month as needed for all types of shows—from children’s theatre and rock concerts to Broadway, opera, symphony, and dance.
Whatever capacity you are able to serve is a great benefit to CAPA. Please fill out the volunteer application and return it to us. You will be notified when the dates are set for interviews and orientation.
