Education

CAPA's Education Department believes everyone in our community deserves to experience the transformative power of the arts.

CAPA’s Education programs enrich the lives of Central Ohio residents by providing free and low-cost creative experiences that are varied, diverse and accessible. We believe everyone in our community deserves to experience the transformative power of the arts and our many community collaborations enable us to fulfill that belief.

Passport to Learning Series

Take your students on a journey of learning with CAPA’s Passport to Learning Student Matinee Series. Carefully selected to enhance curriculum and make learning fun, this series makes history, math, science, and literature come alive by using the power of the arts on the stages of Columbus’ finest historical theatres.

CAPA Marquee Awards

The CAPA Marquee Awards are designed to celebrate, support, and advocate for high school musical theatre education throughout Central Ohio.

Community Outreach

Because we strive to bring the transformative power of the arts into our community, each year Education & Outreach creates one or more projects at no charge to participants. Each project is designed with a particular performance and/or theme in mind, so the experience has a lasting effect on the community.

Careers in the Arts

This video series will help students in grades 6-12 explore the many career opportunities the fine and performing arts have to offer.

Broadway for Kids Applause Program

For over 10 years, Broadway in Columbus and CAPA have made subsidized tickets available for educators and their students through the Broadway for Kids APPLAUSE Program.

Education and Outreach Newsletters

The Bulletin Board is produced quarterly to help you stay up-to-date on the exciting things happening in Education & Outreach at CAPA!

Mindful Music Moments

Mindful Music Moments is a daily mindfulness and classical music program that promotes student focus. With support from CAPA, the Columbus Symphony and Opera Columbus, students in grades K-6 listen to four minutes of recorded classical music and relaxation prompts at the start of each school day during morning announcements.
