In celebration of the Palace Theatre’s 100th birthday, an extraordinary lineup of artists takes the Palace stage to honor the music and legacy of the legendary Ray Charles, who performed at the theatre multiple times throughout his career.
Hosted by legendary bandleader and television personality Paul Shaffer, the concert features Patti Austin, Aloe Blacc, Blessing Offor, Lisa Fischer, Billy Valentine and more, with Grammy-winning drummer and producer Gregg Field bringing together this remarkable cast of artists.
Both Shaffer and Field performed alongside Ray Charles, bringing a personal connection to this celebration of his enduring musical legacy. And for acclaimed vocalist Billy Valentine, the evening is also a homecoming: the Columbus native returns to his hometown to celebrate Ray Charles on the stage of one of Columbus’ most treasured landmarks.
Over the past 100 years, a stellar roster of artists has graced the Palace stage, from the stars of Vaudeville to some of the most celebrated performers in music and entertainment. This anniversary concert honors that rich performance history through the music and legacy of one of the Palace’s returning icons, Ray Charles.
