Handpicked by Billy Joel to star in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Movin’ Out, Michael Cavanaugh evokes a style rivaling the Piano Man. Called by Billboard “the new voice of the American Rock & Roll Songbook,” Cavanaugh is a charismatic performer and musician made famous for his piano/lead vocals in Movin’ Out. He performed the role for three years and over 1,200 shows.
As the featured performer for this year’s Amp Up the Arts Benefit hosted by The New Albany Community Foundation, Cavanaugh will bring his extraordinary talent to the stage to raise funds for arts and culture in the community. Cavanaugh will be accompanied by the New Albany Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Luis Biava.
