Convergence 2026 introduces local Black male choreographers through an evening of movement, collaboration, and shared exploration.
Presented by Onyx Productions, led by Executive Director Gamal Brown and Assistant Director Brianna Rhodes, Convergence 2026 creates a shared space for distinct choreographic voices to meet, challenge, and build alongside one another. Rooted in the Black experience, the performance moves across contemporary dance, hip hop, Afro-futurism, and activism to explore identity, memory, resilience, freedom, and possibility.
Rather than following one linear story, Convergence 2026 unfolds as a dynamic continuum of bodies, sound, rhythm, and emotion. Each choreographer brings a distinct perspective, creating an evening where movement becomes conversation and individual expression becomes collective experience.
