Julia Roberts is Vivian Ward, an unexpected Cinderella, and Richard Gere is her equally unorthodox Prince Charming in Pretty Woman, the rom com that proves love finds a way, even when it’s just business. Edward Lewis is a power broker set to take over a family business and needs a companion that will be on call with no strings attached for the week. He hires Vivian, a prostitute new to the red light district of Los Angeles. With the fairy godmother help of Barney Thompson (Hector Elizondo), the manager of their posh hotel, Vivian is soon looking and acting the partner Edward requires. As the two grow closer, the business arrangement is soon much more. By the end of the week, business is concluded, and it’s time to learn if Edward is truly the Prince Charming that will rescue the Princess, and if she will “rescue him right back.”
