Description
When eldest brother Adam Pontipee (Howard Keel) brings a bride home along with other necessities for him and his six brothers in 1850’s Oregon, they all decide they want wives of their own. Adam’s new wife Milly (Jane Powell) helps them clean up for society, and after they fall in love with some girls at a town dance, they hatch a plan to make them their brides by kidnapping them and bringing them back to their cabin. Although the women are less than impressed with their methods, an avalanche traps them at the farm for the winter. The boys are banished to the barn, but as time goes on, they learn how to properly court their loves and by spring, it appears they will have their brides after they deal with one more obstacle: the rescue party mounted by the townspeople.
