Description
Inspired by the beloved children’s book from Columbus native, drag superstar, and kindness icon Nina West, The You Kind of Kind follows Nina, an irrepressibly optimistic young girl, on what should be a perfect “Suptastic Adventure Saturday” with her dad. When she finds him too sad to join in their usual fun, Nina sets out to cheer him up with the help of her imaginary friend Kwerk.
She ventures into the neighborhood searching for the grand act of kindness that will summon “Tingle Tangle,” a shower of magical glitter that appears whenever genuine kindness is shared. Along the way she becomes consumed in her task and learns that forcing kindness never quite works the way you expect.
Filled with warmth, humor, and the joyful spirit that has made Nina West a national voice for compassion and creativity, this brand-new world premiere musical is a heartfelt adventure for audiences of all ages. Expect laughter, imagination, and just a little glitter magic along the way!
