Hitchcock’s To Catch a Thief (1955)

The ever-charming Cary Grant is John Robie, a former jewel thief known as “the Cat” who is suspected of coming out of retirement when a series of copycat burglaries plague the Riviera. He teams up with H.H. Hughson (John Williams), an insurance man from Lloyd’s of London, To Catch a Thief and clear his name. Hughson has a list of potential victims, and when Robie strikes up a flirtatious relationship with Francie (Grace Kelly), the daughter of one of the names on the list right before they are robbed, it seems that perhaps he is not as innocent as he claims. Undaunted, Robie continues to try to stop the new thief mid-robbery to settle the case, but he needs the help of none other than Francie to do so.
