Clint Eastwood earned his first two Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director for his unflinching and gritty look at the romanticized Wild West. When former gunslinger Will Munny is lured back by younger bounty hunter The Schofield Kid (Jaimz Woolvett) to avenge a prostitute who was disfigured by a client, he squares off against Sheriff Little Bill Daggett (Gene Hackman). Daggett tries to run a law-and-order town, but didn’t enact any real justice for the woman, prompting the brothel to take matters into their own hands with a bounty on the two cowboys responsible. Will also enlists the help of his former partner in crime, Ned Logan (Morgan Freeman), and the three set off to Big Whiskey, Wyoming. Once in town, the lines between good and evil aren’t as clear as they thought, and they are reminded once again that “it’s a hell of a thing, killing a man.”
