Description

When Al Stewart wrapped the first legs of his 80th Birthday Farewell Tour in the fall of 2025 with sold-out nights up the American East Coast, then Amsterdam, a triumphant run across the United Kingdom capped by the London Palladium, and closing nights in Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin — the goodbyes weren’t finished.

Says Stewart: “I can still see doing occasional shows here and there, but as for the long tours in faraway places, this is it.”

Audiences can expect the songs that defined him — “Year of the Cat,” “Time Passages,” “On the Border,” “Modern Times” — alongside selections from a catalogue that stretches from the British folk clubs of the 1960s to the present. Stewart came up in the legendary London folk scene, where he shared a flat with a young Paul Simon, played the very first Glastonbury Festival in 1970, and went on to record the Platinum albums Year of the Cat (1976) and Time Passages (1978), fusing folk-rock with vivid storytelling drawn from history. In Al’s own words: “I’m just a folk singer that is interested in history and wine that got lucky with some hit records! It’s as simple as that really.”

ABOUT AL STEWART

Al Stewart rose to prominence in the British folk revival of the 1960s and ’70s, developing a singular blend of folk-rock and richly detailed songs drawn from history. His breakthrough albums Year of the Cat and Time Passages, both certified Platinum, produced two of the most enduring singles of the era. Over a six-decade career he has released more than a dozen studio albums, from Bedsitter Images (1967) to Sparks of Ancient Light (2008), and collaborated with artists including Jimmy Page, Phil Collins, Alan Parsons, and Peter White. His Farewell Tour launched in 2025 with full houses across the eastern United States, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, and continues in 2027 across the USA.

In addition to their years on the road with Stewart, they’ve backed Kenny Loggins, Simon Kirke of Bad Company, and Richie Furay of Buffalo Springfield. They open each evening with their own set before joining Al on stage.

ABOUT CHASE HUNA
