Chamber Music Columbus and VIVO Music Festival continue their annual partnership with a program exploring the theme of hope in American music. VIVO Hope features the evocative textures of Gabriela Lena Frank’s “Hilos” and the hypnotic minimalism of Philip Glass’s String Quartet No. 5. A new work by the VIVO Next composition fellow highlights the future of American music, while Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring” brings the performance to a close with a sense of joy and renewal.
